A desk phone at the front desk can ring on the same call routing as everything else in Hello Hotel. Any SIP desk phone works, and you can set it up yourself.
Adding a Phone
Go to Organization Settings → Hardware Phones and click to add an office phone.
Give it a Name, like "Front Desk Phone 1".
Choose the Phone Number it belongs to.
Optionally, give it an Internal extension (1 to 6 digits). Extensions are only used for calling from one desk phone to another.
Click Add Phone.
Hello Hotel gives you SIP credentials for the phone. Enter them in the desk phone's own settings to connect it. The Hardware Phones list shows each phone as online or offline.
Ringing the Phone on Inbound Calls
Add a hardware-phone step to a number's call routing, and inbound calls reach the desk phone at that step. See Setting Up Call Routing.
Making Calls
Calls go out with the phone number you chose as caller ID, not the phone's own address.
Extensions: desk phones can dial each other directly by extension, scoped to your organization.
Good to Know
Office phones only. Room phones aren't supported, so there are no per-room emergency addresses, message-waiting lights, do-not-disturb, or wake-up calls.
Calling limits. A desk phone can't place international calls (outside North America) or premium-rate 900/976 calls.
911 can never be an extension.
Online status can lag. It's worked out from call activity rather than a live connection check, so a phone that hasn't made a call recently may look out of date.
