Branded short links turn the long URLs you send guests — check-in links, payment links, booking links — into short, tidy links on your own domain. They read cleaner in a text message and look recognizably yours instead of a long string from a third party.
The feature is off by default and turned on per organization.
Go to Organization settings
Find the Link shortening setting
Toggle it on
Only organization owners and managers can change this setting.
With shortening on, both the copy-link buttons on a contact and the links inside your automated messages send the short branded version.
With shortening off, links send exactly as they do today — the full original URL, unchanged.
Because it's off by default, turning it on is the only thing that changes behavior. If you never flip it, nothing about your links changes.
Instead of a long URL, guests receive a short link on your Hello Hotel domain that redirects to the real destination when tapped. The redirect is instant and invisible to the guest — they land exactly where the full link would have taken them.
Short links are per guest and per link. Each one points to a specific guest's specific link (their check-in, their payment link, etc.). They aren't reusable across guests.
Some links expire. Links tied to a stay (like a check-in or digital key link) stop working after the stay ends, the same way the underlying link would.
The redirect happens on your domain. Guests see your Hello Hotel domain in the short link, not a generic third-party shortener.
Turn it on before a big send. If you're about to launch a new automation that texts guests a link, flip shortening on first so those messages go out with the tidy version.
Shorter links, fewer segments. A shorter URL means a shorter text, which can help keep a message within a single SMS segment. See the segment estimate in the Using Actions message editor.
